Kayak / Canoe / Paddle
There are many ways to explore Bellevue and its environs by canoe, kayak or paddle board. If you have your own canoe or kayak you can launch at many of the beach parks. Don't have your own? No problem, you can rent boards, canoes and kayaks at Bellevue's Enatai Beach Park and Kirkland's Houghton Beach and be out on Lake Washington in minutes.
Explore Mercer Slough Nature Park
Mercer Slough Nature Park is favorite spot for exploring by small watercraft. Paddlers can launch their own or rent from REI rental locations at Enatai Beach Park (or Meydenbauer Bay Park), from Enatai paddle a short distance along the shores of Lake Washington and duck into the slough entrance under the Interstate-90 Bridge. You'll see how this amazing ecosystem functions as you travel into the heart of Mercer Slough Nature Park, a 320 acre wetland. With a little luck, you may catch a glimpse of the otters, herons, turtles and other wildlife of Mercer Slough.
