Paraglide Off A Mountain
Come paraglide at Tiger Mountain Paragliding just 4 miles east of Bellevue and experience free flight in its purest form! Harness the power of wind, the sun, and nature with bird’s eye views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Si, Lake Sammamish, Bellevue, Seattle, the Puget Sound and so much more. Tiger’s launch, on Tiger Mountain, is two thousand feet over the Puget Sound, makes for one of the top paragliding sites in the United States.
You can fly tandem with an instructor pilot who provides everything you need and helps you with every step. In a tandem flight, the guest goes in front of the experienced pilot, both strapped to harnesses that fit like backpacks with built-in seats. Flights are remarkably stable and smooth, more like a Ferris wheel ride than a roller coaster.
You and your instructor run down a grassy hill and let the wing carry you away. There is no jumping involved! After running a few steps, you suddenly find yourself airborne gaining lift from thermals (small, warm pockets of air that drift upward from the ground), sitting comfortably in a reclined harness, your feet dangling above the trees with no one in front of you and no cockpit surrounding you. No noise – just you and the wind. Plan on spending 2-3 hours once you arrive to go through orientation, get up the mountain to the launch site (you have a choice for how you get up the mountain, hike up (a 1.8-mile trail) or take the shuttle ride up), fly, and enjoy watching your video after your flight on our big screen TV.
Tiger Mountain Paragliding flies almost every day and scheduled times are typically 11 am, 1:30 pm, and 4:00 pm.
